So what do you think the top dog names of 2011 are going to be? We’ve found a few great lists around the internet but we’d love to hear your thoughts. Like the list over on DogTime, collected from pet insurance data from 2008, that says the top dog names for a male are Max, Buddy, Rocky, Bailey and Jake. We’re not so sure about Bailey for a butch, masculine dog name, but the other four suit us just fine. What do you think?
Number Six on the list of top dog names for males is Charlie. We’re not so sure how the owner’s father feels about that one either. =)

As for females, the top dog names are Bella, Molly, Lucy, Maggie, and Daisy. Those are all pretty awesome if you ask us! How much do you think the Twilight series influenced the #1 name for a female dog, huh? Kinda goes hand in hand with the fact that Jacob is a werewolf, doesn’t it? (Side note…Team Edward or Team Jacob?)
Rounding out the Top Dog Names
Down at the bottom of the list for male dogs, we finish off with Maximus, Romeo, Boomer, LUKE(!), and Henry. And for the bottom five of the top dog names for females, we have: Heidi, Luna, Dixie, Honey, and Dakota. (The PooPurse owner has a six-toed cat named Luna, so we’re particularly fond of that one as well!)
